The End of Coming Home (Review)

Image
Well, it's the end of the beginning for the J. Michael Straczynski run on the Amazing Spider-Man. Last time, Spidey fought Morlun and lost. Now he's going to irradiate himself in order to defeat Morlun, hey, it's a win/win situation, he either dies or he defeats Morlun. Well, let's see how this story ends by looking at issue 35 of the Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 2) by J. Michael Straczynski and John Romita Jr.  The cover (by J. Scott Campbell) is actually more creative than the ones we've seen in the last 4 issues. Spidey's costume on the floor of Peter's room, where he pretty much can't keep anything off the fucking floor, look, this place is a mess, there's books, web shooters, and a toothbrush. C'mon, Peter, keep your shit together. The comic begins, Morlun is about to find Peter so he can eat him. Meanwhile, Peter is experimenting with dangerous radioactive material to make his blood not pure. Morlun is getting closer, so Spidey decides to injec...

The Amazing Double Feature (Review)

Last time in the Amazing Spider-Man: Eh idk. Time to look at issues 33 and 34 of The Amazing Spider-Man vol. 2. By J. Michael Straczynski and drawn by John Romita Jr. This is the cover for issue 33, Spider-Man is chillling with our pal Ezekiel and stuff and things, but it seems like Ezekiel has told Spidey that he has a bug on his arm.  The comic begins with Spidey trying to fight against Morlun, but none of his punches seem to actually harm him. Morlun manages to throw him across the street. Morlun tells Peter that he does not get tired, he doesn't give up, and he eventually will catch him.  What follows is a pretty damn good fight scene, Peter keeps trying to hit Morlun but nothing seems to work. It seems like Spider-Man is about to die, so Peter runs away... But then Morlun shows up again! He wasn't lying when he said that once he found Spidey, he would always be able to find him. He manages to run away from Morlun and goes to Ezekiel for help, but it's just too late for...

VALENTINE'S DAY SPECIAL 2024!!! (Review)

Image
Last time, in The Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 2)... Peter met a guy Ezekiel, who can also do whatever a spider can, he was a bit freaked out. Peter also stopped a school shooter, and he then became a science teacher. I guess we also met Morlun but he hasn't done a lot yet.   Consider this a Valentine's Day Special because I just got a real girlfriend, she just goes to another school, she's real, I swear... Haha... hah...  Anyway, let's actually talk about the comic. This is issue 32 of The Amazing Spider-Man (Volume 2, but we'll be looking volume 1 later), once again, written by J. Michael Straczynski, drawn by John Romita Jr. and with covers by J. Scott Campbell. This is the cover. There are so many things to address, first off, where the hell is he? This place doesn't show up anywhere in the story. That's all there is to address... Why does Spidey look like that? I don't know, J. Scott Campbell's art is pretty mixed. The story begins with some guy wit...

The Amazing Spider-Man Vs. A Building (REVIEW)

Once upon a time, Little Edward was walking around town looking at the yard sales, when he saw a guy selling comic books, what he found was a Trade Paperback at an affordable price, The Amazing Spider-Man: Coming Home, by J. Michael Straczynski and John Romita Jr. I had to talk about myself in the third person. Well, it's one year later, and I am looking for a comic mini-series or storyline to review, and I remember that I own this comic. Neato. Welcome to the big review series of 2025. I'm gonna be looking at The Amazing Spider-Man issues 30-35, from when the series relaunched in 1999.  Let me give you a little background. Spider-Man was created in 1962 by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko for Amazing Fantasy #15. Cool. Spidey then got his new comic series titled "The Amazing Spider-Man" and it was a huge hit. Cool. flash forward to the 90's and Spidey's dealing with clones and a lot of confusing mumbo jumbo. Not cool. and to top it all off, Marvel has gone bankrupt.....

Originally posted on September 29th, 2024. I'm gonna review a Spider-Man comic, because it's been a long time since I've posted anything. Very recently (last year) I went to a yard sale and found a guy that was selling a lot of comic books, and I purchased 2 of them, one was a copy of Action Comics #1 Facsimile Edition, and the other was the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Derailed TPB, can you guess which one I'm gonna be reviewing today? Action Comics is gonna have to wait because I have a Spider-Man comic to review. I'm gonna be checking out Issue number 5, because I actually really ____ it. Read the rest of the review and then fill the blank.  Written by Peter David, drawn by Mike Wieringo & Roger Cruz. Review written by me. The cover depicts some girl on her computer, just typing away, while Spider-Man is crawling on the wall. Cover's good, I have no jokes to make here, let's move on. The comic begins with someone writing stupid shit on a blog and...
