The Black Cover.

Back on Tuesday, September 11th, 2001, a tragedy occurred. Two planes were hijacked by terrorists, who then crashed them into the World Trade Center in New York City. This event changed the world forever, and society swore to never forget. It was unexpected for the US; it was unexpected for everyone. I wasn't born yet, but I've heard stories from a lot of people who were there when it happened. It seems like everyone remembers where they were on 9/11. This real-world event interrupted a lot of things, and one of them was the Amazing Spider-Man comic series.

Now, the Marvel Universe is always described as "The world outside your window", what happens in the real world also happens in the Marvel U, and you get to see how the various characters react to what happens in the real world. Marvel HQ is in New York, and a lot of their characters live in NYC. Spider-Man is a New York icon and pretty much a worldwide icon, so J. Michael Straczynski and John Romita Jr. made a comic showing how 9/11 happened in the Marvel Universe. This is issue 36 of the Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 2)
The cover does not show anything, it would just be disrespectful. There's no cover and it still looks like it's saying a thousand things.

This was a ballsy thing to do, on paper, this idea's pretty disrespectful, why would they use a real-world tragedy for their funny little comic book? The end result is beautiful and well-written.

Marvel decided to interrupt the ongoing storyline in the title for this tribute to the real heroes that helped through those dark times. This comic shows you that the Marvel Superheroes are also people, they may not be real, but they can still help people. However, Spidey and the other Marvel characters are not the main focus of the story. The main focus are the firefighters and policemen that risked their own lives to save other lives. 

The issue ends with Spider-Man telling the readers and telling the entire nation to stand tall. 

This story is powerful, it has a wonderful message. This isn't Spider-Man talking to the US (and the world), this is JMS, an American citizen telling a great message to the world. 10/10.

That new Spider-Man TV show just came out, but I don't have Disney+, everyone's talking about it and I don't want to be an outcast, so I'm gonna do the ballsiest thing ever, I'm gonna lose my credibility as a reviewer! The Lowest Point In Modern Spider-Man Comics.

One thing I didn't want to admit is that I am not a fan of how the recent Amazing Spider-Man comics have been going lately, it seems that the series is not in good hands and that nothing is going to get better... So, why exactly did I not want to admit this? Well, because I try to be optimistic when it comes to Marvel comics, I really have hope that Amazing Spider-Man is gonna be good again, I have hope that the comics about my favorite character will have good storytelling, so what the fuck is going on?
