The Comic Where Everything Goes Wrong...

Image
They can't all be winners. I think it's time to look at the last 5 issues of the West Coast Avengers by Kelly Thompson, Daniele DI Nicuolo, Gang Hyuk Lim, Moy Rodriguez and Stefano Caselli. LAST TIMES: Something to do with giant furries, something to do with Jimmy Kimmel, and then Hawkeye and America Chavez died from a kiss. Gwen and Quentin died from probably electrocution, I don't remember. Kate didn't die and found her mother. Oh, and they went to the fair. The show must go on. The cover shows the SHITHEADS about to attack the silhouette of... What, do you think I know? First page is a memorial for Stan Lee. Y'know, regardless of what I think of the guy, I still think it was pretty sad seeing him be mistreated during his last few years, it's heartbreaking. The story itself begins with the villains of this issue, Madame Masque, M.O.D.O.K., The Eel, and Satana Hellstrom all celebrating the fact that they finally captured the WCA... But, where's Kate? She...

The West Coast Avengers vs. ME! (Triple Feature)

Remember the West Coast Avengers? Wow, weren't they great? They were just like McDonalds; they're alright and sometimes kinda shitty.  LAST TIME: Kate was looking for someone for her superhero team that ISN'T the WCA, she found Gwen Poole, ok, then they went back home, and Quentin Quire joined the team with his trusty ol' camera crew, and then they fought Tigra. And after that they found a guy named Bronkey Kong or whatever his name was, and it's MODOK in disguise but they took him home anyways because I don't remember, and then Kate and Clint went to a lab, and then they heard a sound, and then Quentin kissed Gwen, and then I forgot what else happened, but the review was over and I reviewed Young Avengers Presents (aka YAP) #6. All in a day's work. Dude, I felt like a stupid little kid explaining a movie to his parents. But I'm gonna feel like an unprofessional comic book critic when I review issues 3 and 4 of WCA (2018). by Kelly Thompson and Stefano C...

This comic is a load of junk. (Triple Feature)

I know I said late February, but I got impatient.  You know the Avengers? They're pretty cool, they were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby back in 1963, what exactly do the Avengers avenge? Absolutely fucking nothing, it's just an awesome name. Google says, "They avenge what has happened to earth", sure, if they say so. The Avengers are almost perfect, but there is one big problem... THEY'RE IN NEW YORK! They need to be in ALL OF THE US. That's why the West Coast Avengers were created, so they had someone to defend and "avenge" the west coast... And then there's the Young Avengers... And the New Avengers... And the Great Lakes Avengers... And the Dark Avengers- Let's just move on. The original West Coast Avengers team was created as an expansion of the New York Avengers, and the members of the old team were Hawkeye, Mockingbird, War Machine, Wonder Man, Tigra, Iron Man, The Thing, Hank Pym, and other guys. Oh, hey, the Wasp was there, she...

From The Archives: A Retrospective for a 10 Issue Comic Series.

Image
I recently had a 7-day trial for Marvel Unlimited, i used it to read suggestions from people on Discord and so i could read comics that i will never get to own. Also, so i could finish that one post that is coming out on June 2025 (Still not telling you what comic it's about) I'm gonna write a retrospective for The Unstoppable Wasp. A series from 2018 which got not 9, not 11, not 12, but 10 whole issues. Wow. It was written by Jeremy Whitley and drawn by Gurihiru, who also drew that one comic everyone likes. Before i get into the series itself, i have to give some backstory.  I don't like the Avengers. I know, what a shocking revelation, the guy that only reads Marvel Comics isn't a huge fan of The Avengers. I saw the movies in theaters and thought they were alright, but I've never read a single issue of any Avengers comic... Or at least once that stars the most popular members. The original Avengers team had Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk, Ant-Man, and The Wasp. I wasn...
