Oh, gosh, are they okay? (Review)

Today we're looking at Marvel Ruins... What a weird title, what DOESN'T Marvel Ruin? Anyway, Marvel Ruins is part of an imprint titled "Alterniverse", which was about.... Alternate universes. This is obviously inspired by the book "Marvels" by Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross, however while that one was about exploring the many marvelous characters, this one is about the horrible things that could've happened to them. So, here's Tales Of The Marvels: Ruins by Warren Ellis, Cliff Nielsen and Terese Nielsen. The cover shows Phil Sheldon, the reporter from Marvels, walking around the various corpses and bodies of Marvel superheroes like Spider-Man, Kitty Pryde, Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, and Scarlet Witch. Now I know what to recreate with all my action figures! I just need to find the "Old man with an eyepatch" figure from the latest Marvel Legends line.  The story begins with Phil witnessing how the Avengers Quinjet blew up. They died. Prepare...

The Lowest Point In Modern Spider-Man Comics.

One thing I didn't want to admit is that I am not a fan of how the recent Amazing Spider-Man comics have been going lately, it seems that the series is not in good hands and that nothing is going to get better... So, why exactly did I not want to admit this? Well, because I try to be optimistic when it comes to Marvel comics, I really have hope that Amazing Spider-Man is gonna be good again, I have hope that the comics about my favorite character will have good storytelling, so what the fuck is going on? It all started in 2006, with a little comic called Civil War, Spidey had his identity revealed and it led to a lot of chaos in his stories, Aunt May was dying again (this time because of a bullet wound), and no hospital will do anything because apparently Spidey is a criminal or something like that. This led to One More Day, where Peter just cannot let go of Aunt May and in order to save her life, he sells his marriage to Mephisto. This comic was shitty, not the worst, but it was a...

4 Random Issues of the Fantastic Four.

You know the Fantastic Four? I know I do; they're the guys in the cover of Amazing Spider-Man #1.  I could be an ass and just link you to a Wikipedia article but I'm gonna be nice and kind and tell you the story behind their creation.  Stan Lee thought that the comic book industry had become too restrictive, and it was, there were parents that were worried about exposing their kids to monster and horror comics, some guy thought comics were worse than Hitler, some thought Batman & Robin were gay... And that caused the formation of the Comics Code Authority (Now defunct). Stan said, "Screw that, I'm writing the type of story that I wanna read." and he came up with a team of characters that were super heroic but still normal humans on the inside. Jack Kirby said it was HIS idea; he came up with the FF and- this is too complicated. Anyway, the Fantastic Four premiered with issue 1 back in June of 1961, and this is where the modern Marvel Universe began, after this...

12 Days Of Eddiemas (DAY 10): Secrets That Marvel Hides From Us.

I recently acquired a secret internal document from the Marvel offices in New York, and in this document, there are several secrets about the company, secrets about the writers, and secrets about the Marvel Universe that were hidden for over 80 years. I shall now uncover 5 of these secrets. First off, the secret to why Marvel allows Sony to make these horrible movies based on characters related to Spider-Man. Well, you see, if Marvel themselves don't care about the characters, then why should they care if they appear in a horrible movie? Think about it. Did they care about Kraven? Did they care about Morbius? Did they care about Madame Web? NO! They didn't, no one even remembers the last time they appeared in a comic. The only one they seem to care about is Venom. And speaking of Venom, let's talk about the origin of his character, believe it or not, the concept of an alien costume that bonds to people didn't JUST come from the sick and twisted mind of Jim Shooter or wh...

The Strangest Comic Of All Time. (Reviews)

You guys remember the good ol' days of 2010? I don't, i was 3 at the time.  Well, Marvel was pretty big in 2010, everyone liked them. Do you care? No.  Galactus had a daughter. yes, it's true, i'm not making this up. You may have heard of her because she was in that new game called Marvel Rivals. Well, i saw that she had 4 entire comics so i decided to check them out. This is Galacta: Daughter of Galactus (2010), written by Adam Warren and drawn by Hector Sevilla Lujan.  Issue 0 was released exclusively on Marvel's Digital Comics Unlimited service, known nowadays as Marvel Unlimited. This is probably the only comic on the service that has a low resolution. First panel is a tweet. Here is the link, cause it was a real tweet on a real account. Marvel made a real twitter to promote this... This reminds me of Chicago Party Aunt or whatever it was. The kinda shit that Galacta tweets is the kinda shit that i would've tweeted 2 or so years ago. Hopefully she will follo...

From The Archives: Gwenpool Strikes Back #2 SUCKS SHIT (Review)

Originally posted on August 26, 2024 via Wix.  Some of you may remember my review of Gwenpool Strikes Back #1 from way back in June of 2023. I remember it because of that Atop The Fourth Wall joke at the beginning of the post, I could tell you what else I said about the comic but I am definitely not looking back at my old shit. but the most important aspect of the review was that i didn't like it. Some others may remember the 17th Birthday Special, in which I did a short review of issue #2. and I really fucking hated it. But I didn't go too much into details and pretty much just wrote about how much I hate that stupid-ass character Deadpool. Well, I'm here to tell you why this comic sucks by giving you a PAGE-FOR-PAGE, PANEL-BY-PANEL (ok maybe not panel-by-panel) ANALYSIS. While also reviewing issue 3, because a little birdie tells me that this issue is not as bad as the first 2 hell spawns.  Comic is written by Leah Williams, and the art was made by David Baldeon. THE COVE...
