From The Archives: SpiderFan Application Review.

Image
Originally submitted for an application for SpiderFan.org The Amazing Spider-Man: Annual #35 Hello, Jonathan Couper from SpiderFan.org, this is my application, using a format that I am not actually used to. Background: Jackpot was introduced during the Brand New Day era, she was mysterious, and people used to think she was Mary Jane, because she had red hair, and she was literally named after the "You just hit the jackpot" line. This issue is about her.  Story: "A Tale Of Two Jackpots" by Marc Guggenheim and Mike McKone. The cover shows Spidey towering over this Jackpot character. I suppose it's alright The story itself greets us with a splashpage showing a few mysterious characters like Jackpot, Blindside, and this guy named Mogul, whose name is actually Walter Declun, he's actually the CEO of Damage Control.  Chapter One: The past as prologue, aka a retelling of events from issue 551, which was reviewed by someone else way back in 2008. In this retelling, ...

From The Archives: Unfinished Variant Cover Rant.

Remastered and sorta remade. Originally meant to be published on Wix, though never finished due to prioritizing other work. Remember the 60's? You're reading this shit, of course you don't. The 60's were a great time for comic books. You saw a comic book in the newsstands, you saw only one cover and you just had to deal with it.  Now, this was pretty much the standard from 19-whenever-comics-were-invented, but up until the 1990's, something strange occurred. You see, comics like the first appearances of Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man started to rocket in value because 1, quantities were limited (Less than 100 copies of Action Comics exist nowadays) and because they were ICONIC characters that were now parts of pop culture... People and companies took the wrong idea from this. See, the people of the world thought that if you took any comic book and just kept it for a few years, then it would become valuable. So, companies like Marvel and DC started to introduce new...

From The Archives: SpiderManCrawlspace Application Sample.

Image
Originally submitted for an application at SpiderManCrawlspace.com, I wouldn't be able to tell you if I was rejected because I have yet to get a response from Brad. Big shoutout to his site and to the crew, I think they're pretty cool. This may have been altered a bit. The Amazing Spider-Man #655. Written by Dan Slott, drawn by Marcos Martin, colored by Muntsa Vicente, and lettered by VC's Joe Caramagna. Previously, Marla Jameson, wife of J. Jonah Jameson died in the hands of Alastair Smythe. The cover shows Spider-Man, completely grief-stricken over the events of the last issue. There is so little in this cover, yet it says too much. 7:00 AM, J. Jonah Jameson is waking up to an empty bed. It's very easy to notice Marla's absence. Jameson is getting ready for her funeral. We also see Peter Parker getting ready for the day, he puts on his Spider-Man clothes under his regular clothes, but then he decides to not wear it for the funeral. What follows is everyone at the ...

Spider-Plush Random Hour 4 (FTA)

Image
The 4 Year Anniversary Celebration ends here. and i'm gonna bring you Random Hour 4, it's fitting, 4 Years, Random Hour 4, it makes sense. (Art by @wet_dream04 on twitter.) What can i talk about that i haven't spoken about in the other 3 random hours? Well, i have the rest of August and all of September to figure that out.  If you're one of the 2 people that are reading this, you probably think "What a disappointing anniversary" and i would agree. Actually, self-deprecation is not funny anymore, WE HAVE THE BEST POSTS EVER, AND EVERYONE SHOULD READ THEM. Let's just talk about what i have to say. THING #1: THE MULTIVERSE PROBLEM. For those that don't keep up with the latest MCU news, we're in the Multiverse Saga. This is good news for some, but bad for me.  But first off, what is the multiverse? It's actually pretty easy to explain, we're in THE UNIVERSE, and outside of the Universe, there are a bunch of alternate universes, sounds like a si...

4 Years Of Spider-Plush: 4th Year Recap (FTA)

Image
Originally posted on October 25th, 2024.  The 4-Year Celebration continues here, I'm here to give you a recap of the 4th year, for a recap of the other 3 years, click here . This 4th Year, it's been crazier than the others. Or at least my brain thinks so. November 2023:  I was tasked with making a list of things that i actually give a shit about and it was fun. that's all... December 2023: The biggest things that happened were probably the Evil Spider-Man Christmas Special.  Also, the first official Spider-Plush Awards, the winner was the 2099 Spider-Man plush. SONIC WINTER JAM HAPPENED; HOW COULD I FORGET. January:  I had to take a break to focus on some personal stuff, i can't go too much into it but i will say that i was a secret agent for a bit, i had cool gear and stuff. I also got called a "fuzzy lumpkins built ass bitch" which is ridiculous. I was also a cool radical kid for a bit, but then the joke got old incredibly fast and i just stopped doing it. J...

4 Years of Spider-Plush: A Remake Of An Old Post (FTA)

Image
Originally posted on October 20th, 2024.  You may remember that in the early days of this website i made a post listing my favorite characters, you may also remember that i was also a goddamn idiot. Not only is this a part of the 4 Year Anniversary, but it also involves me revamping my previous work. Stay tuned for remakes of my LPs on YouTube within the next 20 years. Unlike last time, i'm not gonna put 10 characters, who do you think i am? WatchMojo? No! I'm better than that. I'm going for TOP 5! The top 5 is more important. I am also making this because my opinion has changed since that post came out. These are characters that i love and understand more than anyone in the fucking world, anyone who claims that they're the #1 fan of these characters is a fucking liar, i am FAN #1, NUMERO UNO, nobody else. 5: SpongeBob SquarePants The last time i went to the store (which was like a half hour ago) i noticed that the TV was playing SpongeBob, and i just stood there ...

4 Years Of Spider-Plush: More Plushies (FTA)

Image
Originally posted on October 12, 2024. Hello, it's me Edward. And later this month, it'll be the 4-Year Anniversary of Daily Spider-Plush. I know it's silly to celebrate 4 years of a twitter page, but i don't think of it as just celebrating a twitter page, i think of it as celebrating 4 years of me using this username to be an idiot, sometimes you can celebrate the small things. Besides, if it hadn't been for this twitter page, this site wouldn't have existed, and you wouldn't have been here to read this. What am I even saying? It has been 4 years, and nobody is interested in what I have to say. Art by @wet_dream04 on twitter Unlike last year, i'm not gonna release everything in the same day, i'm gonna release like 4 things over the course of a couple weeks.  More Plushies in My Collection (October 12) A remake of an old post.  (October 20) The 4th Year Recap (October 25) Rabdom Hour 4 (October 27) Whether or not i stick to these deadlines is up to ...

From The Archives: Gwenpool Strikes Back #2 SUCKS SHIT (Review)

Image
Originally posted on August 26, 2024 via Wix.  Some of you may remember my review of Gwenpool Strikes Back #1 from way back in June of 2023. I remember it because of that Atop The Fourth Wall joke at the beginning of the post, I could tell you what else I said about the comic but I am definitely not looking back at my old shit. but the most important aspect of the review was that i didn't like it. Some others may remember the 17th Birthday Special, in which I did a short review of issue #2. and I really fucking hated it. But I didn't go too much into details and pretty much just wrote about how much I hate that stupid-ass character Deadpool. Well, I'm here to tell you why this comic sucks by giving you a PAGE-FOR-PAGE, PANEL-BY-PANEL (ok maybe not panel-by-panel) ANALYSIS. While also reviewing issue 3, because a little birdie tells me that this issue is not as bad as the first 2 hell spawns.  Comic is written by Leah Williams, and the art was made by David Baldeon. THE COVE...

FTA: Storytime 6

Originally posted on March 23rd, 2023.  HELLO everyone, it's me Spider-Plush (Also known as Eddie) back with another Storytime, today i am talking about Spider-Man No Way Home, this isn't a review, this is just me telling you about how i went to watch it.   In 2019 i watched Spider-Man: Far from Home, it was so good i just couldn't wait for the next one, life sucks so a pandemic happened, and it caused a lot of films to get delayed and movie theaters were in trouble. In October 2020 Spider-Man 3 (working title Serenity Now) began filming. Everyone was hyped and were posting set photos and videos, none of them featured anything important but it was still cool The fellas had one simple question… are they coming back? We're talking about the other Spider-Men (Tobey and Andrew), a lot of the cast from the Raimi and Webb films were returning, but we couldn't get info on Tobey and Andrew's return. Everyone was waiting for the trailer, but Sony just didn't want to ...

From The Archives: My bad Marvel Spider-Sona Ideas.

Image
Originally posted on March 15th, 2023. HELLO everyone, i am Spider-Plush (also known as Eddie) here with another one of my stories. IN THIS EPISODE: My Spider-Man Oc IDEAS that you've never heard about. cool beans. Some of you may know that i chose the name Spider-Plush because of a plush inspired by the Ultimate Marvel comics, but here is something that I've never told to anyone. I used to make fun ideas for Spider-People. 1. Spidey It was early 2020 (before the pandemic) and i was in art class, bored as shit when i came up with a great idea, i should make my own version of Spider-Man. This version was not a MAN but a SPIDER, so basically this was just "The Amazing Spider", when i got home i stapled together some paper and started to draw the cover and plan the story. I drew 2 panels and instantly gave up. I still drew some art for this comic, unfortunately it is lost and i didn't scan it so, sorry about that, i do remember drawing a "Homage" to the Spi...

FTA: Spider-Plush Storytime 3

Originally published on February 24th, 2023 Hey guys, welcome to another episode of spider-plush storytime, today im gonna say a bunch of bad Spider-Man takes from when i was younger and stupid. This isn't really a storytime, this is more of a top 4 random thoughts i used to have Bad Take 1: MCU SPIDER-MAN Back in the years of 2019, i was a really stupid idiot, (i was 12) and i had this old cringy account where i pretended to be Spider-Man. I used that account to comment on youtube videos about Spider-Man and i shared my stupid opinions.  Now, im gonna tell you this funny little fun fact about me. I didn't watch Spider-Man Homecoming when it first came out, it was the only Spider-Man movie that i hadn't watched. But i thought that the movie was all about the stupid fucking Iron Boy Jr argument and i then argued with youtube commenters about it once. It wasn't until i finally watched every spider-man movie to form my own opinions that i thought that the movies were goo...
